Little Owls in an ancient Olive, Andalucia, Spain

The inspiration for this drawing came from living in the Las Alpujarras region of southern Spain. The ancient olive groves are a favourite haunt for Little Owls. This particular tree is on a friends land and is thought to be 1,000 years old. I wanted to portray the incredibly knarled texture of the trunk and show how perfectly the owls blend into it.
